v1-I warn and counsel you the shepherds among you

Pastors and leaders and spiritual guides
Tend, guard and nurture His sheep there among you

So you’ll win the conqueror’s crown

Not motivated by any wrong reasons

Not over bearing or arrogant

Cheerfully, eagerly, not dominating

Guarding His sheep in your hands.

REFRAIN:
When the Chief Shepherd shall appear

We’ll receive His crown of glory

When the Chief Shepherd shall appear

We will win His conqueror’s crown

When the Chief Shepherd shall appear

We’ll know His Loves amazing Story,
O Shepherds, guard His lambs.

v 2-Be therefore humble and low in opinion

About who you are and the rank that you hold

Guard all your motives: be not callous but caring
And you’ll receive the conqueror’s crown

Be balanced and temperate, cautious and watchful

For the Chief Shepherd soon will appear

Leader, be pure in your motives and actions
Then you’ll receive the Conqueror’s crown.
