PART 1 Q. WHAT IS A VPN?
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a type of technology that creates a secure, encrypted connection between your device and the internet. When you use a VPN, your internet traffic is routed through an encrypted tunnel to a server operated by the VPN provider, making it much more difficult for anyone to intercept or view your online activity.
Here are some reasons why using a VPN can be a good idea:
- Protect your privacy: A VPN can hide your IP address and online activity from your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and other third parties. This means that your online activity cannot be tracked or monitored.
- Secure your online activity: By encrypting your internet traffic, a VPN can protect you from hackers, identity thieves, and other malicious actors who may try to steal your personal information or data.
- Access geo-restricted content: Many streaming services and websites restrict access to users in certain countries. With a VPN, you can change your virtual location to access content that may not be available in your region.
- Use public Wi-Fi safely: Public Wi-Fi networks are often unsecured, which can make them vulnerable to attacks. Using a VPN can help protect your data and personal information when using public Wi-Fi.
It’s important to note that not all VPNs are created equal, and some may offer better privacy and security features than others. When choosing a VPN provider, it’s important to do your research and choose a reputable provider that prioritizes your privacy and security.
RIGHT NOW ONE MIGHT THINK ABOUT GETTING A VPN
MORE REAL REASONS WHY…Common Sense, Safety
Most Common Examples…daily.. Starbucks, Panera, and most places that offer Free WIFI are not encrypted.. and can read your passwords, who knows “what.”
Start with a Google search (I typed in BEST VPN 23 and got these Quality examples: PcMag and Forbes)
.JUST AN FYI: (heard about this a few days ago, hence I investigated) ..which was posted on Tik Tok a couple of times:
IF, WHEN they remove TIK TOK you can still get it by using a NON-USA VPN (for one minor example)
During my own search for a VPN.I found “PROTON VPN” (listed as #1 PC MAG) which is FREE with the basics and if you want the FASTEST then the cost for the upgrade seems sensible.
This particular one PROTON VPN is from Switzerland, which is one of the top 3 most regulated countries regarding online privacy..
Please note that I am not “vouching for” as I do not know enough at this point to “endorse” or “recommend” however, I can state that I know a lot about online..and I am well versed with choice knowledge tech type persons…so there I am SHARING what I am thinking, doing for myself
And just now I am experimenting with Swiss PROTON VPN… and have just started ..so you ought to really think about this and make whatever choice is RIGHT for your SELF.
PART 2
Q.DOES A VPN SAFEGUARD CELLS FROM MALWARE AND HACKERS:
ANDROID
Q. Does a VPN (Virtual Private Network) on your Android cell can provide an additional layer of security and privacy by encrypting your internet traffic and routing it through a remote server. However, it’s important to note that a VPN does not offer complete protection against all types of hacks or security threats.
A VPN can protect you from certain types of attacks, such as man-in-the-middle attacks or eavesdropping on public Wi-Fi networks. It can also help to hide your IP address and location from potential attackers.
However, a VPN does not protect you from all types of attacks. For example, if you download a malicious app or click on a phishing link, a VPN won’t be able to protect you. It’s also important to keep your Android device updated with the latest security patches and to use strong, unique passwords for all your accounts.
In summary, using a VPN on your Android cell can be a helpful security measure, but it’s important to use it in conjunction with other security best practices.
Q. WHAT ABOUT AN IPHONE:
Yes, a VPN (Virtual Private Network) can also protect an iPhone in a similar way as it does on an Android device.
Yet, by encrypting your internet traffic and routing it through a remote server, a VPN can provide an additional layer of security and privacy to your online activities.
Using a VPN on your iPhone can protect you from certain types of attacks, such as man-in-the-middle attacks or eavesdropping on public Wi-Fi networks. It can also help to hide your IP address and location from potential attackers.
However, as with any security measure, a VPN is not a silver bullet and cannot protect you from all types of threats. For example, a VPN cannot protect you from downloading a malicious app or falling for a phishing scam. It’s important to always use caution when downloading apps or clicking on links, and to keep your iPhone updated with the latest security patches.
In summary, using a VPN on your iPhone can be a helpful security measure, but it’s important to use it in combination with other security best practices to ensure your online safety and privacy.
